FAQ

  • Why Soy?
-Soy burns cleaner than paraffin waxes and produces 90% less soot than other waxes. -Soy is a sustainable and comes from soy beans. -Soy burns longer, giving you a longer lasting candle. -Soy is better for your home. It will not emitt toxins that will stain your walls or fabric. -Paraben free, toxin free, gluten free, phthalate free and come from renewable resources.
  • How long is the burn time?
Burn time varies from candle to candle. It also depends on how long your let your candle burn the first time. To prevent "tunneling" you need to burn long enough for the wax pool to make the edge of the vessel. Spark & Stone Co candles takes 3-4 hours each time you burn. Giving you 40+ hours of burn time.
  • Are these made with essential oils?
No. Some of the oil blends are inffused with essential oils but I buy my oils pre blended. They are made from a Clean Scents line that has super high stardards. Not only are they phthalate free and are in compliance with California's Prop 65 list, they exclude dangerous materials and that gives us all a peace of mind while bringing you the best and safest scents.
  • How do I remove the stones?
To remove stones simply let the wax cool. To remove the beads run hot water over the bottom of the jar to soften the wax. Then the wax will pop out and you can remove the beads. Discard big chunks of wax into the bin and put the beads in a strainer. Use hot water to melt the wax and clean up your stones. Then use included jewelry kit to make a necklace.
  • How do I wear the beads?
Use our jewelry kit and make your own necklace or bracelet! Kit comes with 20" nylon cord and magnetic clasp. *Tip: use nail glue on ends of cord to help harden and make it easier to string beads. Also drop the tiniest bit of glue on knots to keep from slipping. * Go to our YouTube channel to see how its done.
  • Why is my flame so small?
If your flame is having a hard time staying lit or seems to be struggling (drowning wick) then you need to trim your wick! Even if you just lit it. Blow it out, trim it, and then re-light it immediately. *Tip: Sometimes because soy wax is a softer wax, if you stick it in the freezer for 30 minutes before you burn helps harden the wax. It takes a little bit longer time to get that melt pool to the edge but worth it!
  • Why is the first burn so important?
Candles have a memory ring. The first burn needs to stay lit long enough for the wax pool to make it to edge if the vessel. Then the next time you burn it will keep trying to make it to the edge but stops wherever the last melt pool ring is. If you blow it out too soon, the next burn will be harder to overlap the last burn ring. Which is what causes tunneling. (The wax pool burns down instead of out.)
